"I hope you learned an important lesson today!"
This quote seemed to be ubiquitous in the family sitcoms that permeated TV from the 50's up until the 80's, up until we in the US discovered that irony wasn't just good for laundry anymore....

So what is YOUR favorite "important lesson you learned"?

6. D'oh! - I almost forgot!
From all those various episodes of Star Trek, - I learnt that: 'Victory belongs not to the strongest, nor the swiftest, but to those who can give the most long-winded self-righteous speech near the end of the show.'

8. I see you're not really talking about having 3 Long Island Ice Teas
and driving a '64 Chevrolet Impala 85mph down the Colonial Parkway. But it was an important lesson nonetheless, and I think the statute of limitations has run out.

5 Coors Lites, 3 red wine coolers, and a quarter bottle of Jack Daniels.
