Is It My Imagination? Or Does Anyone Else Think That Ed Schultz...
... has vocal qualities that remind you of Rush Limbaugh's voice? Is it his accent (wherever it's from)? Is it the informal folksy tone? Or is it just that they are both baritones?

It doesn't happen ALL the time, not every word and every syllable... but just once and awhile he'll say something that makes me think I've accidentally tuned in Rush Limbaugh.

Weird huh?

1. He does. And it bugs me no end.
Especially when he says "folks". We should ban that word. Limbaugh owns it, I'm afraid.

2. Their voices are similar but that's where the similarity ends.
Ed Schultz does not ruffle his papers into the mike.

Better yet, unlike that druggie coward Limpballs, Schultz is not afraid to take calls from those who disagree with him.

6. absolutely right, not only does he not
'screen' calls- (i called his show last week) the fellow who answers the line is SOOOO kind, and won't let you say a word about what you want to say to Ed, because "we DON'T screen calls"- he also lets you know about how long till your on, and keeps checkin in-
MUCH different than the RW talk show "screener" who asked what i wanted to say, argued with me, then when i'd put her in a corner suddenly says "oh, wait, we're moving to a new topic right now"- and hung up on me-!!?!
Don't remember the show's name, but is was a really gruff lady, who was on during "lynn Samuels spot"- except on RWtalk-

Ed's staff is outstanding, and while i don't agree with him on everything, he REALLY is willing to hear from all sides, a mark of a person who isn't 'afraid' of backing up their stand.

5. Whew!! Okay... I'm glad to learn that I'm not the only one...
... who sees (hears) the similarities.

8. the station that carries the limp one also carries the baseball games here
so it has a memory button on my car radio, which happens to be right next to the one with AAR. Once in awhile, I'll inadvertently dial up the limp one instead of AAR and I can't tell them apart until the drug-addicted fascsit propagandists says something that makes me want to puke.

7. I think he always sounds like Limbaugh
To me, it's kind of a mockery of Limbaugh (whether intended or not) and throwing it right back in the fat fuck's face. Two other guys who have Limbaugh mannerisms are Sean Hannity (not the tone of voice but many mannerisms, like the stuttering and sudden bursts of words) and Arizona Congressman J.D. Hayworth, who said earlier in his career he wanted to be another Limbaugh and even looks like him.

9. Hasn't Ed been on the air longer than Rush?
When someone once suggested that Ed was trying to sound like Rush, I thought I remember someone else said that was impossible because he's been around longer than Rush. Anyone know for sure?

I always wonder about it too when I listen to Ed (who is up there with Randi in my opinion as the top two talk show hosts).
