Before the name "mullet" became the standard, me and this guy I knew in college called it "the Chad". We were driving around talking about the haircut and he was like "I heard it has a name, it's like 'the Chad' or something, but it's not that" and I was like "but that's cool anyways!" and so we started calling it that. It spread a little, too.

This was back in like 1996 all this happened. But yeah, they started going through and classified ones like "the Chet", "the Brice", "the Bo", and probably a few others.
