3. Sort of like announcing who did it at the beginning of a mystery. |

4. Ahhh...I read it wrong. |
|
I interpreted it as Fox announcing that they were interviewing the winning team after the break...not that the game itself was going to be shown after the break (after they has announced the winner).
That makes a LOT more sense...
:)

6. I can imagine. My condolences. |

I'm surprised that made it through the writers, especially when the game was coming up next.

8. Really? I kinda like knowing who is gonna win. |
|
If I had a Cowboys game on tape or something, I would not want to watch it unless I knew that my favorite team had won. My favorite team, of course, is anybody who is playing the Cowboys.
The other day I was watching Venus Williams play in the final of the US Open. This was on Sunday, after my mom had already told me who won. I would have been in agony if I had not known she was gonna win it. I kept wondering "how can she possibly win this? I must be watching some other match that she lost, like from last year or something." Anyway, a great passing shot is still a great passing shot, and a great baseline rally is still a great baseline rally and both are fun to watch even if you know the outcome. Maybe even more so.

you it's the journey and not the destination that makes sports so much fun.

11. no, it's dancing on the Star |

after a touchdown pass that is fun. A journey cannot be fun if it turns into a trail of tears when the bad guys win, as they almost always do. Are we on an explore, or are we playing a game of "here we go gathering nuts and may" with the ending on an ant's nest?

12. Where you watching ESPN classic? |
|
Because the US open isn't until the end of this month. There was a tournament in Ca though. I didn't see much of it but I did see some of the Montreal tournament that Nadal won the title over Agassi. God can that young man play.

13. okay, maybe it was Wimbledon |

I cannot keep these things straight. It seemed like the US Open since there was an all American final.

I love tennis more than rugby so I know right now you have the Masters tournaments going on leading up to the US open.

15. Right, like I said "the other day" |
|
that works for July doesn't it? Okay, maybe not, the dictionary says "a day or two ago, lately". To an old guy like me, 3 weeks is not that far from a day or two ago. And I do not have cable TV or a satellite, although I used to make satellite dishes.

They try to employ as many assholes as they can! In sports reporting you don't announce the winner right away unless you are totally clueless.

Back in the dark ages (before there were browsers) my hubby and I visited friends in Australia. One of the highlights of the trip was going to a rugby game. To say I was confused and bewildered by the behavior of the fans is an understatement. The first thing that was odd was during the national anthem. The blokes to the right of me were singing one song whilst the blokes left of me were singing another. The second thing was the blokes behind me were cheering wildly for the home team then after half-time these same burly guys where cheering on the visiting team.
So when we got back to the house I ask my host what up with that? He explained the national anthem had been re-written and some folks didn't like it and kept on singing the old one. As to the fair weather fans behind me goes, in Oz you can bet on the game in the stadium. So these guys probably had a bet on one team for the first half and the other for the second.
