Are we really still up and posting here? Who are you?
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 03:31 AM by Whoa_Nelly
I've been involved tonight with the Camp Casey crosses event, have seen two pics of my little sister posted on DU, who has refused to talk with me for almost three years, have been suffering from hives from a Hobo spider bite for the last ten days, and am am going in for deep scaling and cleaning on my teeth beginnign this Thursday (Ouch! It will take 4 sessions)
My electricity will be turned off from 7 AM-4PM on Tuesday so PG&E can do upgrades on their system, it will be in the high 90s (better than the triple digit heat of the last siz weeks here) and I've just about done in a bottle of Toad Hollow Chardoney.

Whew! Yeah...have parked car outside of garage sosince garage door won't be opening without elec manana....am doing OK :) It's the grief of so many dead that bothers me...damn! I try not to think about it too much, but after Just Me's post earlier tosay, I have more than an inkling of how she's been feeling and coping.

Oob-la-dee, Oob-la-dah....Life goes on

PS
Thanks for the DU Lounge Has been the place to be to decompensate, to unwind...thanks all!

Sure does sound like you have a lot to deal with.

Peace.

6. If you don't mind me asking...
How is it you came upon pics of your sister here? That must have been so strange and emotional to see.

(If you don't want to say, I do understand.)

Been feeling the stress of things myself. Hoping for brighter days for all of us.

14. Ah. I see.
Still, it must have been weird. I've dealt with estrangement in my own family--no fun :(

Good luck with the dental work (from a dental chicken :))

32. It was weird and it wasn't
estrangement is my family's middle name...

and am actually looking forward to the deep cleaning...there's a new method that is used to actually lessen the deep gum pockets I inherited from my dad...and nothing feels so good as to know I can smile and brighten a room! :D

7. I am bi_baby's humble manservant/cabana boy
And, I'm posting here because I'm part of the DU NightHawks crew. I am also trying to do some reading and so on as well. Plan on finishing "Barton Fink" in a while though. Taking a break from the movie right now.

On another note. I see you received my flowers from last night. :) Just trying to make you smile, you know? :)

26. I'd be totally shy in person
You'd reduce me to a stuttering idiot in about 10 seconds. :)

But, I can be pretty charming either way. My shyness is a charm in and of itself. :)

12. 3:42 where i am right now... and who am i?
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 03:50 AM by LastKnight
good question. im college student with a fierce case of insomnia, have had it ever since i was 5... lemme tell you it isnt the way to live. dont know quite what i want outta life, honestly. i spend my daylight hours working and working out, i play guitar, bass, and violin at performance quality, so its safe to say music takes up a good portion of my average day as well.

other than that im still trying to anwser that very question of 'who am i?' because whenever i think i have that anwsered, it changes a week later.

18. wow, you are one talented guy
I didn't know you played all three that well.

You'll get it figured out. When I was your age I was a drunken fool. Now, I pretty much know the things I want to do, but I have so many options in both policy and creative fields that I just don't know which direction I'll take. In the end, you'll find it isn't so much that you don't know what you'll do, it's what option are you going to take. Especially someone like you who is good at a great number of things. Narrowing it down gets to be tough. You'll be ok though.

13. WTF is a Hobo Spider?
I get freaked out by spiders. Those monstrous bird eating spiders in the Amazon are awful. That kind of shit makes me not want to save the rain forest.

Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 03:58 AM by Whoa_Nelly
and when they spread out, they move fast, keepin' to the low edges and around corners. They don't climb high and don't build webs. This house I rented had a bunch of'em when I moved in...hit'em with Raid, and had to hit'em again...nasty suckers. They were tryin' to make their home at the wrong address!
