He went on one date with Joan Crawford, back when he was a bachelor - and was subsequently invited back to her house.

He thought her hygiene was a bit questionable, and just felt odd being around her.

She took him upstairs to introduce him to the 2 kids, and saw that they were STRAPPED DOWN in BIG straps, buckles and all.

He said he got the hell out of there as fast as he could.

She was well-known in Hollywood for being nasty and tyrannical. I suspect Christina SOFTENED the story because she did love her mother, after all.
