I am about halfway thru and dont't know what to think,

1. Stopped reading his stuff after Owen Meany
Meany was a great book, but the other stuff just didnt appeal...

3. not much CAN compare to Owen Meany.....

5. I tried to. I just couldn't get into it.
I gave up pretty early...when Jack and his mother was travelling throughout Europe and meeting uo with the tattoo artists in each country in search of Jack's father. Just...didn't hold my interest.

7. I'm halfway through; it's picking up
He's one of my favorite authors. I agree with other posters about OM, but I'd have to throw Ciderhouse Rules in as well. Both excellent novels.

His current novel is curious. I'm finding it hard to get "into" the story. It's hard to read about the things that happen to Jack, but maybe that's part of the point of the story. I don't know yet. I do plan to finish it before next Monday, when law school starts up for me again. At 39, going back to school is challenging enough...law school is extra challenging...and there's precious little time for extracurricular reading! So I'm blazing through it this week.
