Help! I'm being bombarded, the siege began two weeks ago
When someone started shooting fireworks at my house. The first one was a bottle rocket that actually hit the cable TV wire a couple of feet of my house and burned their for a minute. They then lit fireworks 3 more times the last one at 4 in the morning. We had the cops out twice that night and I got about an hour of sleep before work.
There has been about 5 or 6 more times that fireworks have gone off in our yard in the past 2 weeks. Last night it got really dangerous. They lit a ton of fireworks of, one a huge bottle rocket that hit the house right next to my nephew's bedroom window. We also found pieces of fireworks on 2 of our cars this morning. They're going to end up burning down our house. The police can't do much, whoever is doing this does it on random nights and at random times during the night.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Bounty hunters would be appreciated too.

2. Are bottle rockets illegal where you live?
Also, little webcams are pretty cheap nowadays, I think some people used them during all the sign-stealing that was going on before the election. You could probably do a search on "webcam" and "sign" in the DU archives and find some useful stuff about yard surveillance.

6. I'm not sure about bottle rockets, I know some fireworks were legalized
here in Connecticut. I'm kind of strapped for cash but I might be able to borrow a camcorder from a friend. I know someone who has a digital camcorder that can record for a very long time.

8. Those motion sensor lights are reasonably priced...
I'd try wiring one up in the direction they seem to be firing from. I would wire it to switch on a buzzer or small light inside my home. I'd then run out among them brandishing firearms and yelling cuss words.

10. If it goes on I could rig up a temperary motion sensor light.
I don't have a firearm but I do have a foul mouth and a big mag light.

13. A mag light shining in their eyes and a loud "Halt where you are!" might..
freeze them. If not, it should scare the crap out of them.

19. Or, don't shine the mag light, and use the other end
just above the knees on an extended leg... guarenteed to get their attention.

21. Well, that's the place to strike them if you have to
that area is considered a self-defense strike, designed to stop an attacker from continuing.

just in case you need to know that.

22. Boys at my Daughter's school threatened to "hooraw" our house...
some years ago when we lived in the East Texas piney woods. One of the more sensible boys told me about it. I told him to warn them if they tried it, I'd slip out my back door with a gun and a knife and it would be my Chow and me against them in the dark. They made other plans.

12. How are they entering your property?
If you know where, trip wires could be useful

17. I did find some trampled flowers in the front garden this morning.
I did think about trip wires but the cops said they would be coming by a couple times tonight and they might not like getting tripped.
