My little joke on walmart.
When shopping at Walmart(there is no other place to shop for 40 miles) I always stop at the computers that they have on dispay. Its fun the set the scrolling screen saver the something like "Walmart pays slave wages". "Walmart underpaid labor means cheap prices for you" stayed up for 2 weeks. HEHEHE I know im easily ammused. :smoke:

2. Yesterday, in the dairy section, they had a Nemo video playing
on a vhs/tv to advertise the new movie. It was on a promo table with a huge cardboard Nemo scene around it. Parents and children were watching it as they passed by. Oh how I wish I would have had a porn flick on me.

13. Let that be a lesson to you
Never go out without your porn videos. You never know when an opportunity will present itself.

3. Good one! I won't shop there (I know you don't have much choice)...
...but I will go there to mess with the screen savers, now.

4. I used to go to the kitchen supply section
of a local store, wind up all the kitchen timers to 10 minutes, then leave.

Can't do that anymore: (1) timers are battery powered, and (2) they're packaged in the Plastic Bubble From Hell, which you can't get off even after you buy one.

5. That reminds me
In the computer lab at my university once I left the lab with most of the computers on with Microsoft Word open. I wrote Looser------------> on the screen just like that. I clicked and dragged that annoying paperclip guy right next to the arrow.

I am easily amused.

6. It probably would have been even funnier-
if you had wrote the word "Loser" on the screen instead.

if you don't know what I mean, rent yourself a dictionary.

9. Sorry, but I have to comment.
Your license to correct spelling is revoked until you correct your grammar.

It's a glaring mistake to say "if you had wrote." It's "if you had written."

If you don't know what I mean, rent yourself a grammar book.

Better yet, don't worry about someone else's spelling errors.

12. I believe a comma is not required here.
Although commas usually appear before quotes, their use depends on the way the quote functions in the sentence. I think the quote here is restrictive and would not be separated from the first part of the sentence by a comma. That's how I understand what I read in style books.

However, my point in bringing up "if you had wrote" was to point out the silliness of spelling and grammar nitpicking (something we are now engaging in), since the poster criticizing another poster's spelling had made an obvious error in grammar. Perhaps I have done the same, keeping the irony alive? My best understanding of style rules suggests that it's fine to leave the comma out here. I'll be glad to hear the rationale for putting it in from those who are interested in grammar, though.

15. That's right - no comma would have been necessary there
and yes, it should be "if you had written". :-)

But no comma needed since you aren't talking about speach, you are citing. Just like quoting from a book - you don't separate with a comma.

John Wayne said, "I'm gonna hunt ya down and kill ya."

In his book "I'm a Potato-Headed Whatchamacallit", John Wayne said "I'm gonna hunt ya down and kill ya".

16. We really don't police grammar, spelling or punctuation in here...
It's pretty much politically incorrect.

7. I've gotta say, this really is great.
We seldom see the 'whole computer' section of a store, because hubby and I are both geeks who do our own computer repairs (so we go to parts stores and buy parts), but bravo on the civil disobedience!

11. I used to do things to wal-mart computers...
When I lived in Indiana. I like to think I'm the single reason they gave up on having display computers.

When I go back there for winter break I want to print out a bunch of union pamphlets and place them strategically around the store. You know, in the bathrooms, between items on shelves, in employee's hands...
