the Magic Flutie strikes again! . . .
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=231109024

"Two weeks after turning 41, Doug Flutie juked his way to two touchdowns and threw for two more in his first start in nearly two years, leading San Diego to a stunning 42-18 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

(snip)

"'I believe in magic, Flutie magic,' Tomlinson said. 'He played awesome. Doug Flutie, he's just amazing. He's unbelievable.'"

way to go, Dougie! . . . :)

2. I watched a bit of the game Sunday
They replayed Doug leaping up to make a pass downfield. "He had to leap up to throw over the trees" was how they put it. Way cool.

3. Wasn't he great!
He's been terrific since he was this 5'7" QB at Natick HS. I'm thrilled to see him still playing - and playing so well - after all this time.

He's a fantastic guy. His son has autism and the Doug Flutie Foundation does great things for Autism research.

For Boston for Boston,
we sing our proud refrain...

4. I remember that game when he opposed Bernie Kosar &the Hurricanes
Flutie was QB for Boston College, I recall. The game was pitched as a matchup of two prime quarterbacks. Kosar was a hometown hero, so my dad and I just had to watch that game. My father worked in the steel mill with Bernie Kosar's uncle.

5. Yeah, but you can't start him
Sure, all the guy does is win, but he's short. Or some such flaky logic. Much better to go with Ryan Leaf -- he's 6'4". Tall. You know?

7. seen it before..
let's see how Flutie does against a team with a defense. The problem isn't the QB, it's the coaching staff. Until Schottenheimer is gone, the Chargers are doomed to failure.
