Decision delayed for '.xxx' domain - do the idiots opposing this
have any idea this is in their BEST INTERESTS????

"NEW YORK (AP) -- The Internet's key oversight agency agreed Tuesday to a one-month delay in approving a new ".xxx" domain name after the U.S. government cited "unprecedented" opposition to a virtual red-light district."

This would make blocking software for parents MUCH EASIER - all they would have to do is block the .xxx domains.

1. it doesn't make it easier
nothing stops people from having dot coms as well. Any software that only filters out .xxx would miss those.

But that's still no reason not to have the designation

9. I see no possible way to make finding porn any harder
and no legal way to make finding porn harder.

10. You're pretty much correct...
...the .xxx will only make those "legit" porn sites hard to find, since it's much easier to filter .xxx at a proxy than individual sites. What will be absolutely impossible to do is stop all the random amateur sites that pop up. Plus, what to do about Blogs? This will turn into a freedom of speech argument fast enough to make your head spin. The only real answer to all this, I feel, is if we as parents do our job and spend some time with our kids and inform them of what's out there and educate them on it.

11. You're last line is absolutely correct
and since most of the people complaining about porn on the internet are those who preach the gospel of personal responsibility it is quite humorous that they also want government intervention into where porn can be located on the internet.

8. Oh well. There's still whitehouse.org.
I get all my updates from Our Fearless Leader at that website.

PS: I have noticed that your ass is moving at a highly accelerated rate so I must ask: Has your ass been taking performance-enhancing drugs?

7. it's the same as opposition to sex ed or birth control
they think it is better to deny that sex exists rather than to find ways to manage potential negative consequences
