We survived DC
OK all...We went to DC last weekend after an on again, off again frenzy that would make the 2000 Presidential Election pale in comparison. We finally decided to go on Friday morning.

On the way down, we got lost. We thought we were following the directions and wound up making a wrong turn on Georgetown Pike. This wound up taking us right past CIA. Heebie Jeebies galore.

We stayed in Rosslyn, which was nice and close. We took the shuttle over to Georgetown Friday night. All was fine until we tried to return to the hotel and realized we had taken the wrong bus. We finally made it back.

Saturday brought the fun part. First, is there some trick with the Metro? I have a )&^_*&(*)(_ MBA and couldn't figure the damn rail pass thing out. We messed that up at every stop.

We went to the Spy Museum, which we all enjoyed. This was followed by the Air and Space Museum, the Washington Monument, and the Aquarium (a requirement for young kids in the group).

We were joking around that I had made it past CIA, FBI and Justice without being stopped yet.

Sunday brought more fun and personal interaction with Metro Management followed by a trip to the Natual History Museum. On the way back, we finally saw a cop at the Metro station in Rosslyn. Wasn't for me though.

My oldest was a little dismayed with the trip. He couldn't understand why I kept saying we were skipping the White House because nobody is home.

Later,
JM

2. The subway!
I kept getting passes for more than what we needed, or would get one with 4 fares on it when I needed 4 with one fare on them.

It was a good thing we had another couple with us. They handled the passes. I handled the map after the bus fiasco on the first night.

Later,
JM

3. Sorry you had trouble figuring out
the metrorail passes.

I've always considered it extremely easy and straightforward to use. At least now you'll know what to do next time in DC.
