that the allegation that Charles was caught in bed with a male servant who went on to rape another male servant is true.
The allegation goes that Charles covered up the rape in order to protect the rapist, and ultimately himself, from exposure in the media.
I believe THAT is a good reason to care. If Charles IS bisexual or homosexual, then it would have been far better for it to have been known publically, because then he would have had no reason to cover-up the rape allegation (except perhaps for the "shame" of having slept with a servant, or having slept with someone who became a rapist, that is).
If the allegation is true, could the servant who had a relationship with Charles have felt "untouchable" and felt he could get away with rape? Could Charles' relationship with the rapist have been a contributing cause of the rape? If so, then that is ANOTHER reason why Charles' relationships are important.
Think back to the "Jack the Ripper" case, where one of the allegations was that the murders were carried out either by a member of the royal family or to cover-up the fact that a member of the royal family visited prostitutes.
The point is that, like it or not, members of the royal family have positions of great power, and what they get up to can have far greater effects than if it was you or I doing the same things.

Good one, Allen! :7
To Devil's Advocate NZ: No, it doesn't influence anything, actually. I don't give a rat's ass what charles does in his off hours. If this is indeed his mess, let him clean it up.
