Friday night I got really pissy at everyone. I do a lot Of TDO'S Temporary Dention Orders for mentally ill people. It means they go to the hospital for treatment. I did a real hairy one Friday evening. I have been averaging one a day for the past three weeks. I think I stressed out and took out on everyone here. It involves working with the police and sometimes police are not given the credit they deserve and I do respect the police even to being called a bootlicker in this forumn. Well it is part of my job and I will continue to do it. And I need to rememeber HUMILITY also.
Thanks for listening, not calling me codependent, putting up with me and remaining my friends

1. I wondered what the heck |
|
you were going on about. Man, I thought I was moody.
You do indeed have a stressful job, and doing the right things doesn't always make us feel good. Sorry you've been having a tough time lately.

2. I still don't understand why anyone took issue with what yo posted, |
|
or what you did.
I thought it was insane (no pun on your job description intended).
I, too, have a lot of respect for the police and the difficult and dangerous job they do.

I had an out-of-character meltdown on Saturday night. I didn't take it out on others, but it was a pretty self-pitying call for attention. It happens to us all, just means we are human. And the fact that we accept it from one another just means we are family.
Glad to see you back and hope you are feeling better today. :pals:

4. I think we're all getting Seasonal Affected Disorder |
|
Or whatever it's called. I know the weather in the Northeast has taken a sudden turn for the worse the past few weeks. And the time change doesn't help, either. I'm not discounting people's issues but it just seems that everybody's unusually pissed or sad or burnt out lately. Or maybe it's just me.

My son's a paramedic, my nephew's a cop. I've seen the kinds of stress they, you and the police in general are often under. Hope you're feeling better.

10. Everyone is entitled to one blow-up a month |
|
Didn't you get your monthly "get out of a blow-up free" card? ;-)
I used mine a couple of weeks back, so don't worry about it.

No one ever told me that. I'm way behind. I may have to blow up 2 or 3 times a day this week just to get caught up. :-)

I spent 16 years working in an inner-city hospital as a nurse. These were some of the most exciting and frustrating times of my life, and there were certainly times I would have to sit in the parking lot and build up my courage to walk through those doors for another 12 hour shift remembering what the last one was like, and knowing that nothing had really changed. Oh, the faces changed, but the enormity of their problems and illness didn't, and we were often their last line of defense. Five years ago, I finally had to step back and take a break from that frantic life. But I salute all of you who are still there on the front lines. What you do is invaluable, and often goes by without recognition because it's just another day at work.
Thank you for doing what you do.

than when you're working. Everyone needs to be able to let loose with some frustration sometimes. Especially someone in a stressful job. You're doing a real service and making a difference in some real lives. Thank you.
