6. 16 year old fat black cattie asleep at my
feet under the computer desk (she's safe from other two cats there, they like to play Kato with each other), 12 year old cat sleeping, 5 year old cat playing on floor to ceiling cat tree and banging it against the wall. Dog in bed in garage chewing up his toys.

Life is good. ;-)

15. Sweet cross-bred mutt
Golden Retriever and German Shepherd. Poor baby got attacked in our garage tonight by some irresponsible neighbor's HUGE German Shepard and a mutt. My poor dog is on a long lead and these dogs just came in and jumped him. I came flying out my door screaming like a banshee and the neighbor was yelling and chasing the dogs out of here. Then the dogs' owner comes down the street with leashes. I told her your dogs just attacked my dog. She says "Well they got out of my garage" like that makes it OK. No apology or anything. I said "Don't let it happen again." If my husband had been here, he would have brained the giant dog with a rake. I hate when people are careless with big scary dogs! Meanwhile, Lucky is exhausted from defending his castle. He's only about 50 pounds of pup...

Life is still good though!

8. dog on lap
and one cat is waiting for his daddy on the back of a chair. The youngest cat -- well he just turned off my computer. He learned this trick -- I thought the first time it was a mistake but he knows what he's doing.

He thinks I spend too much time on the computer -- and I should be doing something for him.

Really smart cats are both a joy and a pain in the butt.

Fenny is prowling around, looking for something to do....

Floyd is, well floyd was named appropriately, you figure it out...

And gretchy, the big slow tabby, has a guilty look about her, like she was doing something she wasn't;t supposed to do....

Sylvia, I think, is dreaming of the marshmallow she scammed out of the bag and licked and played with until I caught her....

Another night at the WCGreen abode.....

They change about every two or three weeks, find a new "best" spot...

And then, they are gone....

They sleep in the bed, all four, in the winter.....

Welcome aboard, it's fun and addicting....

26. The two "original" cats, those who moved with us last year,
are conked out on the bed, with the door shut so they don't have to deal with the interlopers, who have shown up since we moved to NC. The two grumpuses who don't mingle are Tom (orange male tabby, total love bug) and Clarisse (psycho mostly white-with-calico-tail female).

The interlopers are four: Ivan - an enormous, 20 lb (all muscle, no fat) tuxedo we adopted after the hurricane of the same name blew him into our yard last year; Novi - a stray momma kitty (now spayed) who showed up three months ago looking for food, and then two of three of her kittens. Novi's a lovely tortoise shell girl with golden eyes, and she's asleep next to me. Ivan's on the pink-polka-dotted living room chair. The two orange girl kitties (one orange tabby with white paws, she's named Ingrid, and one long-haired orange tabby named Tallulah) are climbing up the draperies in the living room, doing their best to shred them. And the third girl kitty Novi brought us (I called her Hedy) was adopted into a home where they worship and adore her. I miss her, but think she's fine. She was a GORGEOUS gray long-haired tabby. I hope she's asleep in the location of her choice in her new home.

And, anyone who wants to adopt two orange sisters (5 months old), please let me know! I want them to go together, if possible...

27. My desert tortoise is sleeping
Edited on Fri Aug-19-05 12:33 AM by aint_no_life_nowhere
I build it a little shelter in the living room and lay down papers beneath it for its morning tortoise business. It likes to sleep with something right over its head. It spends much of the day sleeping, when it isn't eating massive amounts of greens, sunning itself, or patroling my backyard looking for something I haven't figured out yet (probably a girl tortoise).

30. The Zoo
One Hermit crab is digging the other is hiding.

One Turtle basking the other swimming around.

One cat sleeping on the floor by the TV, one laying on the couch with my SO. Another is being annoying in the litter box, doesn't bury just paws at the plastic side of the box (for about 5 minutes or until we scream "Enough Already!") The last cat must be up to something bad somewhere. Climbing up the curtains is her latest evil delight.

The Goldfish is quietly swimming and I'm glad the Parakeets are alseep.

34. Both my guys are waiting for me...
Sara is in the kitchen, waiting to be fed, as always. I'm worried about her, since she had trouble getting up the steps. I may take her to the vet for a check-up. Meneken is lying on the couch, watching me. He is on a diuretic, and had a leaking episode. This is new. I just took him out, but too late. So I'd at least better call the vet. Oops, he's barking, calling me! It's always something with my guys.:loveya:

BTW, Meneken attended the candlelight vigil in support of Cindy Sheehan with me last night. He always expects to be taken. And, as usual, he was so good that he made a great impression. He was quite a conversation piece, LOL, and we made several new friends. As I always say, liberals love animals.:D

She's so afraid of the thunder. If you're outside and hear even a little rumble, she immediately retreats into the house and clings to the nearest person.

We adopted her from the pound, so we don't know what the root of this fear might be!
