6. It's not scummy, Cassandra.
I'm not a Democrat, but the guy has tapped into the skeptism that most people have regarding the Democratic party and its leaders.

He's right. The moral high ground is right there for the Democrats to take, and where are they? Where is the leadership? This is like Bush's bike ride where everyone is hesitant to pass the point man.

7. Actually he makes a few good points
Especially about Biden (I'm not a fan of his) I think Biden just likes to hear himself talk.

If only the official Democrats would have a strong opposition to the war and develop a strategy for getting us out NOW! But they don't. While Cindy Sheehan finds a way to be effective, where are Kerry, Clinton, Kennedy and Reid on this issue?

Are our only strong Democrats in the House (Boxer, Kucinich, et. al.)

Oh hell, time for this picture again:

9. "They don't have a plan." is a GOP talking point.
This guy complains that the Democrats don't have a plan "to withdraw from Iraq without creating even more instability"? Does Bush have one??? Isn't that his job? Why isn't Mr. Ignatius sounding the alarm on that?

Where's the GOP plan on energy dependence? Medicare? The budget defecit? Jeez, of all this issues this guy whines about, the only one where the GOP has a proactive policy is Social Security, and that policy is to destroy the program. I know that it's a rather nuanced point, but the author seems to fail to understand that the Republicans are presently in charge of running the country so the burden of having plans rests a bit more heavily on them. When pressed on this matter, Republicans squirm and blather on about the Democrats not having a plan. It's bullshit and they know it.

10. The GOP has no new ideas
Michael Kinsley had a good editorial last week about how the GOP has been rehashing the same few ideas for the past thirty years. This particular editorial is on the new push for a flat tax, a plan the GOP has been scheeming for thirty years. The GOP has tried to destroy Social Security since before the first check was sent out. The GOP inflates the threat of our "enemy" whether it was Communism or now terrorism. At the height of these wars they trot out the flag burning amendment and fail every time.

It's pretty hard to get our ideas out there when the Congressional agenda is totally controlled by the GOP, but the MSM would never point that out. Am I dissappointed by our Congressional leadership? Absolutely. Someone in Congress needs to get out there and say something, it won't be Harry Reid though.

11. You can't make this better by staying in Iraq either.
It's time to stand up and start mocking Republicans for putting their trust in Bush. Remember? They KNEW he was stupid, but that he was smart enough to surround himself with informed people. Well, now we know those informed people had a plan, and Bush is still too stupid to realize he's been taken, or maybe he's just as corrupt as they are.
