YES!! Nike's "Big Butt" & "Thunder Thighs" ads. "Real women" ads

http://www.adrants.com/2005/08/nike-likes-big-buttsand-thighsand.php
With the launch of a new campaign, Nike has made official the mini-trend towards celebrating less than stick figure sized woman. Following Dove's much talked about campaign, Nike has launched a series of print ads that celebrates big butts, thunder thighs and tomboy knees. The big 'ol booty is pushing aside the anorexic runway model and Ms. Magazine Founder Gloria Steinem is very happy about it telling Ad Age, "It is a change that women and some men, too have been agitating for 35 years. I spent 15 years of my life pleading for ads that reflected our readers by age, race and ethnicity. We could demonstrate that women responded better to ads that were more inclusive of them, but they just weren't coming." The campaign comes from Wieden & Kennedy

10. What are "tomboy knees?"
I'm well aware of what thunder thighs are - but what are tomboy knees?

12. Speaking of Sir Mix-A-Lot
I have a friend who has run into him twice now at various parties. He still has the posse and the girls hanging around him, and at one of the parties, a fan approached him and started telling him how great he was - which Mix appreciated until the guy said something about how he had been a fan of his ever since he had DJ'ed at his high school prom.

Mix wanted to avoid him after that. My friend got a big laught out of it.

13. Bravo for the ads
but why do they need to make derogatory remarks about the body parts? I mean.... "Thunder Thighs".... that's terrible.

14. Yeah--I don't see any ads celebrating men with "front butts"
front butt: a sagging load of belly fat that looks like an extra, misplaced butt.
