Any suggestions for on-line airline reservations? |
|
I'm getting frustrated with Expedia. I can't find the same fares, formats or schedules from one day to the next.
Is there another, better on-line reservation service for good airline prices?
thanks

1. I hear Priceline is allowing you to select flights now. |
|
If that's true, then this makes them even better than before. I have saved countless dollars and cents using them.

3. I Use Orbitz and Travelocity |
|
Orbitz is the most organized. I limit searches on Expedia and Travelocity to different airlines and sort by departure times etc. Expedia is only good if you manipulate it to your specifications.

I've used orbitz.com a few times and I think I did well there. BTW that some airlines change and recall bargain fares several times a day.

but I was going on a spur of the moment trip to Reno to meet a friend and I looked at Priceline, Obitz and Expedia and everything was very high. I almost decided not to go when I thought about calling American Express. It turned out AmEx had the cheapest fare of all of them. The only drawback was I had to charge the ticket to my AmEx card.

6. I don't have AMex myself |
|
but that's interesting.
I know there is some sort of system because I get different fares and even times when I return to one of the sites I've checked out.
Kind of like a crap shoot...
thanks

but they don't seem to do so well anymore. Here they are anyway: http://www.onetravel.com/index.cfm?DK=1000000056but I'm finding that going straight to the airline of your choice gets you a better deal and a better-functioning website http://www.americawest.com/travelplanning/reservations/tp_selecttimes.aspis an outstanding example/

Expedia and Travelocity are a joke, and Orbitz doesn't always give you the lowest rate either. Sidestep will search ALL the sites including sites like Southwest Airlines.
