If you dont know it Liam Lynch is the guy that did the semi-hit "United states of whatever"

Anyway he also does "fake songs" that sound exactly like the original artist or band but with totally stupid or parodical lyrics.

About 17 or 18 years now (my God, am I that old?), I'd have to they the lyrical resemblance is remarkably similar- a very Depeche Modish song.
