I have a hobby of rescuing little bugs and stuff. My old photo lab always had crickets in it during the summer. I would just drop a cup over them, slide a piece of paper under and to the door I went.

I had one in my bedroom in northern Manhattan many years ago...my husband at the time and I spent quite a bit of time trying to capture it before bedtime...
...'cause the sound of one cricket in a 12x12 room can be pretty darned devastating to your sanity.
