Shop to Drop Bush -- donating to DU fundraiser
I've added a page to the "shop to drop bush" site that is coded so I can know that people there want me to donate the commissions I get to the DU fourth quarter fundraiser.

It is an affiliate shopping site, and gets a small percentage commission from the merchants for getting you to shop at their stores.

Please follow the link in my sig-line, and buy a thing or two. And tell other DUers about this.

When the site first went up I got over 4,000 unique visitors in the first two days, and most of them were Freepers. Their e-bombing caused a few merchants to drop their association with the site (a fact the freepers brag about.) So now is a chance for a little 'pay back!'

3. what is your cut?
i asked this in the other thread you started but i guess you missed it? i hope you don't take offense at the question but when you first launched i remember thinking that your cut seemed pretty high. have you revised that?

also, if people want to buy from Amazon, they can use the logo link
on the home page right here at DU http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0446532231/democraticund-20

and the commision will go directly to DU with no middleman.

4. my cut is nothing unless we make alot.
For the part, DU I'll take nothing.

If we make enough money on the rest of the site that I will have to declare it as taxable income (which I think is $600.00,) then I'll pay myself 10% (which doens't seem excessive) and delcare the donations as a marketting expense.

If you are going to buy books from Amazon, there is no reason not to do it through that link. Amazon told me that they would not allow 'cause related affiliates' so I kept them on my site, but had to put in the "none of the money from this page will go to defeat bush" language.

If you want to buy things that Amazon doesnt' stock, STDB is an alternative.

I got pretty busy fighting off the freepers when things first started. I still think this is a potentially good money-maker for the campaign.

6. support NYPD and DU
I just got shop4NYPD as a merchant, which means you can buy NYPD gear (supporting the police department which has been shafted by shrub) and support DU at the same time.
