As with many people, it is 100 per cent what I was like with my group of friends growing up. The film caputred that so well.
What do you like about it?

1. Best adaptation of Stephen King ever.
And King's best writing.

10. Shawshank still yanked some obvious chains.
The Body/Stand by Me much less so. It was more about the ambiguitty of experience than redemption.

7. "Hey Vern, nobody believes in that stuff about Moons and Goochers."
Yeah, that movie...I musta seen it 40 times. Many of those lines became classic among me and my friends. Especially "'These are really good times.' Now, Vern wasn't just talking about the junkyard...."

I know a lot of women can't understand what it is about guys and "Stand By me." But It's like a guy's version of a chick flick. When you're twelve, boys really talk like that.

16. Loved the book, loved the movie.
Shame they didn't mention how the other guys died in the movie, or about Gordie getting his ass kicked by Ace and the gang.

17. "Stand By Me" is one of my favorites too...
My favorite line was: "...Finding new and preferably disgusting ways to degrade a friends mother was always held in high regard."
