When selling insurance turns political...
Alright, so, I'm an insurance agent. We get leads from direct mailings. We send out questionaires and people send them back to us with what they're interested in. Our market is the senior market, and one of the items listed is "information on the new Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan" (The plan sucks, for those not watching at home). The lady wrote on the card "I've heard nothing good about this plan"

So, I call the lady, she's 73, and I give her my name and why I'm calling (to set up an appointment to sit down and go over Medicare with her), and she goes off on the government. We're talking General Discussion-style. So, I laugh because...well, I agree with her, but I never expected to hear it from a customer. She tears into the PA legislature for voting themselves a pay raise, despite our state pretty much falling into shambles. I had mentioned that I'm volunteering for Bob Casey Jr.'s campaign here in Pittsburgh, but she said that she didn't know too much about him. That set off a red flag in my mind.

Well, turns out that she didn't want to meet with me right now, but she'd like for me to call her back in a couple weeks. I called her from home tonight, and we had a good 30 minute talk on politics, when PA was a pretty good place to live, and I found out she worked at a local university here. Very interesting lady.

Good stuff. :)

4. Nice story
I work with the public too and I love it when I run into someone who thinks like I do. It happened just a few months ago with a family I've been working with for years. I'd always liked them a lot but I liked them even more after the father and one of the daughters came in after the election, ranting about * and against the war. :hi:

6. I went to see a lawyer about bankruptcy and he tore into Bush
He had more venom for Bush than I do, if that's possible.
