Magazines aimed at a narrow audience - bizarre
I thought I'd seen everything but I think the one I saw yesterday took the cake - a magazine about athletic shoes. It was called (I think) Kick! and featured articles about celebrity endorsements, new shoe releases, shoe related anecdotes - it was the strangest thing I ever saw. I thought the ones devoted to hairstyles were strange.

Is this a trend - magazines devoted to very narrow fan bases?

1. There's a TV show on ESPN2 about athletic shoes and the "urban lifestyle".
Hosted by Bobbito Garcia.

2. A nice idea in theory
No more common denominator crap...

But it sounds like these magazines only peddle rubbish rather than being intellectually satisfying.

3. I think it would be more likely to find
websites devoted to very narrow fan bases. They are easy to put up and find by those interested in the particular person or subject. I can't see people investing in the money to publish a magazine, though. Not enough advertisers or subscribers.

4. Boy..Take a trip down to most Grocery stores and look at their ...
...Magazines. I've never seen such an obscure collection of rags in my life....I mean "Shrimp Farmer Monthly" "Bathtub Coloring"
"Auto-Steering-Wheel Design".

It's Weird!

5. Well, it is wierd
I work at a grocery store so I've been noticing it. That's why this one caught my eye because it seemed to be the strangest of the bunch - I mean, how much can you find to say about athletic shoes? And it was a fat magazine!
