OK so I went a little crazy at the DVD store.

On the Waterfront
A Streetcar Named Desire (both Kazan/Brando)
American Splendor
Dog Soldiers
Kung Fu Hustle
The Right Stuff

I go through long periods where I don't get anything, and then where I go crazy...

1. Atleast they were worthy choices
for the most part. I really like "On the Waterfront" and "American Splendor." I was at the DVD store today and had to control myself because there are so many good new releases coming out between now and the middle of October.

Going to Best Buy on Tuesday's is always entertaining when people are buying every new release. I have the money thankfully to maintain my DVD addiction but that must get rather expensive to buy every new release probably on a weekly basis.

7. Wow, just watched 'American Splendor' today. Great stuff.
I'll probably wind up buying the anthology of the comics, if I can find it.

8. The anthologies are fairly easy to find
if you have a comic book store in town. I've seen them occasionally in Barnes and Noble and then there is the "internets."

2. Dog Soldiers!
I'm a complete lycanthrope addict. Excellent choice, MM.

5. I'd be interested to hear your reaction.
Two other quick picks from my DVD shelf:

Ginger Snaps (think Heathers with werewolves).

Company of Wolves. Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Werewolf.

Neither have the best production values, but are still fun. Admittedly, I'm not the most objective viewer...

4. I got The Right Stuff about a month ago,
and we still haven't sat down to watch it. I bought All the President's Men and we watched it a couple of weekends ago. Great to see it again.

6. Two of those were on Turner Classic Movies last night
They were doing Marlon Brando day.

Be sure to drop over to the Classic Films forum for more fun about good movies.
