The sublime sunset from the hills of southern California
Met much of my new extended family today. Nini's cousins, twins, celebrated their 50th birthday today, and it was fun meeting so many of her favorite relatives - aunts, uncles, cousins, and many more.

The house we were at sits nestled in the mountains, and when the sun began to set, colors painted the surrounding slopes all sorts of pastel greens and smoky grays. Venus and Jupiter greeted us in the indigo sky and a chorus of crickets sang their approval.

This is what it is all about, folks. Happy times with family and friends. Make sure you schedule some for yourself soon.

Especially late summer sunsets in the mountains. We had fog here, with just enough open spots to suffuse everything UNDER the fog with a golden, orange light at sunset.

7. Very cool!
I did a few similar things (maybe a few less relatives though) this week. It was nice.

To love and to family: :toast:
