Well, I survived my ordeal at the Cheesecake Factory....
Service sucked....

The food was, a little better than average....

We had lost four of the expected 16 and so we were all able to fit around a twelve top....

We waited for water, we waited for drinks.....

They brought the meals out two at a time with a healthy space between delivery so that to be polite and wait till the last person was served endangered the temperature of the early arrivals....

Then, we had to wait for coffee....

The desert.....

But the check, now that was there pronto...

All in all not a bad way to spend a Late Summer sunday afternoon with family and friends....

And in defense of this particular restaurant, they had only been open for a little more than a month so they were still probably on a Shake Down Cruise....

But the older I get, the more I want to go out and eat a good meal instead of being entertained by a theme....

One good note, they didn't have a "special" Cheesecake Factory song to sing to the birthday woman.... (She would kill me if I ever referred to her a s girl!!!)

1. Glad to hear that you made it.
Frankly, it's a little tough to get Kucinich to show up for search parties these days.

3. Really now....
He is my Congressman.....

And I have his home phone number...

I'm not special, I just use to be the treasurer of the county party and I had access to all that kind of stuff...

BTW, he is a great guy....

I have told this story before but here goes again....

We were both running for office at the same time, he to try and get back the congressional seat for the Dem's and me to try and unseat a GOP stalwart in the State Senate....

Well, he won, of course and I got spanked....

The day after the election, a mutual friend of ours was diagnosed with terminal cancer... He was a special kind of guy... He helped both Dennis and Me on our campaigns...

That night, Dennis and I sat with him for three hours and talked, trying to take his mind off of his future while Dennis kept shoving his joy and winning his seat and getting back into big time politics into the background...

When we left, we hugged and cried cause we knew we were going to loose a good man....

5. My Doctor lets me go to the Cheesecake Factory as a reward
"if and only if"

I have lost at least 1/2 pound in the last seven days.

My AM fasting glucose has been under 110 for seven straight days.

My AM awakening BP has been under 130/70 for seven straight days.

6. They had a lot of stuff that was almost healthy.....
And then they would throw Cream Sauce on top of it.....

BTW, I had a spoon full of three different Cheesecakes and a dollop of Whipped Cream (No Cool Whip) in my esspresso.......

I'm going to DC for the march and I have to get worked into it.....

7. Next time...
... remember that it was the Cheesecake Factory that killed a North Carolina initiative to restrict tax breaks for out-of-state companies. The state had completed work on a bill to close loopholes and then the Cheesecake Factory went into action:

Cheers.

12. How terrific that you had a good time...
I can practically see the scene as you describe it here...

My own dinner will be much more modest...

A "large chicken pot pie" from Ralphs...

Heating up as I speak...since hubby and I noshed a bit at the book signing we went to today...

Congrats to Kucinich as he weds! I mean, presidents have to be married, right?

We can only hope.......
