I am a Christian.
* I am pro-America.
* I prefer to work WITH people rather than against them.
* I believe Jesus died for our sins (not that THAT did any good, it seems.)
* I do not believe that a sin can forgiven by merely saying "Jesus died for us." Not when our corporate or political leaders can say it to justify their actions while the rest of us get locked up for years, decades, life, lives...
* I believe God Created all but allowed God's creation to evolve and improve. Well, at least evolve...
* I believe in helping the less fortunate. It keeps them from getting angry and going after the oppressors who prefer to take and take and give nothing back except trinkets everyone else wants. Jesus knows that too. And that is what He had preached.
* I believe...

Fuck it. Christianity is just what people perceive it to be and parrot from a few choice quotes, typically out of the Old Testament no less... :eyes: Had they bothered to read beyond "Malachi" they'd be shocked... hell, even some passages of the Old Testament pertain to selfishness and greed - but because some capitalist pig wanted to justify its greed, it perverted those sections to scapegoat homosexuals. :mad:

1. I don't believe in procrastination covered by merely saying,"I've put it
in God's hands." This one irks me all the time. Take a hold of your life instead of denying its existance. :hug: :hi:

2. Religion is like love
It's a mystical state of mind that can revolutionize your approach to life, or fuck you up so bad that you can never hope for another moment's clarity and happiness -- or anything in between.

Most of all, it's highly personal and idiosyncratic.

Remember what St. Augustine said: Credo quia absurdum est. I believe because it is absurd.

5. Wait, so are you, or are you not?
I guess it is all perspective....but just because I keep saying "I'm a tree" doesn't make me one, even if I believe I am one. There are pretty good guidelines to go by.

For instance, I think George Bush is a pretty crappy Christian...I don't think he lives by any of Jesus' teachings.

Of course, some may say that about me. Eh, you can't win.

8. Oh Jeebus, please save me from your followers
Yeah, you'd think that some of the so-called "Christians" stopped reading at Leviticus the way they carry on.

10. Hmmm... I am not sure where you are going with this, but
I am a Christian and I believe all of the things up there. I certainly don't think just b/c Jesus died, you are forgiven. You have to want forgiveness and mean it. I also believe that we are not here to judge each other. Of course we have to make judgments about things in our lives, but all these "Christians" who say people are going to hell for certain things (homosexuality, abortion, etc.) well, they don't have a damn clue. That is as much of a sin as they feel the things they are preaching against is. I hate hypocrisy. But I am a Christian and I am a proud one.
