Missing jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux has been "found"
Missing jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux has been "found" after her record label hired a private detective to trace her.

Bill Holland of Universal Classics and Jazz said they had "tracked her down very quickly. Much to our embarrassment she was with her manager in New York."

According to her manager, Peyroux does not want to do any further promotion for her Careless Love record, currently at number seven in the UK album chart.

"He said we should go away and leave her alone," Mr Holland told BBC News.

"She doesn't want to see anyone or do any promotion," he told BBC One's Breakfast, adding that he was "fed up" with her behaviour.
"She's gone off - that's what she does and she won't come back."

1. Well that's a massive load off my mind.
Thank goodness she's safe and well - I would never have thought about contacting her manager after all.

Sorry - I couldn't resist a small dash of bitchy sarcasm for Monday.

4. You rose above my comments effortlessly
Which just proves (as though further proof were needed) that you're a far better person than I.

5. no doubt, bridgit.
I'm really disappointed in Universal Classics that they would express their displeasure with her publicly. She has a history of being fragile and unable to handle intense publicity tours. They knew this when they signed her, and they should have taken it into account when they set up the record. x(

8. girl, i have to tell'ya you'll know cause you're on the inside...
i used to work for bill grahame productions, in fact he hired me; but when he died they were ultimately bought-up by clear channel, who i worked for for a time trying to see what would shake out but then nothing in the way of 'art' ever did, at least to my mind...those 'big money types' don't care two figs for fragile, it is all about the freaking-bottom-line but then...an artist comes along. i feel for Madeleine, i've seen the machine from which she has been recently extruded. the result can be a sticky, bitchy mess. my advise...

one need have access to a heart as potentially-hard; as the pavement our cars roll on to rage against it but that's just me.

either way there's no excuse for calling people out in front of a world filled with lloyd's of london actuaries, that's just catty

10. i've been in the business for over ten years now
and i know exactly what you're talking about.

people talk about an artist's work as "product" right in front of them. bullshit - it's their heart and soul, not product to them. makes me crazy. :grr:

12. i'm glad i'm doing what i'm doing now...
the last guy i showcased was john mayer: http://www.johnmayer.com/flash/index.html i took my little bonus = cut of the 'action' & left that component behind, but i'm like michael corleone "they keep pulling me back" so i still do press-packs, i'm tired of settling the tabs & then pulling the tweaked, fragile & drug addled out of 'the fairmont', or the tenderloin, so they can get on the freaking bus & make that 'contribution'. as i'd mentioned in your previous thread, 'it can be a sadness'

14. it is sad that even those who promote really complex artists
or any artists for that matter, can so miss the point of it all. :(

No surprise that so many choose to do it all themselves... Janis Ian is a pretty good example of this.
