When is the best time to post an essay?

This is a question for you hard-core DU pundits, writers, speakers, activists and regular posters:

"When is the best time of day to post an essay if you're looking for the best posters on DU to critique it?"

I'm trying to learn how to write political essays & analysis. I crave critiques, but I don't expect the thread to stay alive very long. (I'm no William Rivers Pitt) I want to maximize the opportunity for the most serious DUers to see it, so I can learn how to improve.

A well-written essay on an interesting topic naturally gets lots of comments, but I doubt my ability to create a well-written essay right now...so I'm doing what big corporations do before they release a mediocre product: Market research!

For the purposes of this poll, I am only asking what time of day Monday through Friday. Do you have a favorite day of the week? Do you think posting essays on the weekend is a good idea? I suspect that this is a question many of us newbies & aspiring writers would like to know, but have been afraid to ask.

1. FRIDAY!

That's the day Bush's administration releases any bad information it feels it has no choice but to release. Since the Freepers are focused on editing the documents they're about to release, they won't have as much time to study your essays and plan your assassination.

2. I wouldn't care

My essays wont' initially have much to say. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to use a comma, the difference between "too" and "to", and the correct way to credit other writers when you use quotes from their work.

3. I'll be glad to see them. Don't expect high response counts

but they will get read. The more you post, the more responses you'll eventually get. Don't lose heart.

4. EST-itis

You have to remember your time zones and that EST is a long ways away from MST or PST. I'd post as early as you can and then kick for the evening crowd in various timezones.

5. Don't worry about it. Just post.

If you want it critiqued, state that in the title and people will critique it. Don't be afraid to kick your own post. Sometimes articles drop off page one before people get a chance to see them.

Another possibility is to title the thread
"Dean,Kerry,Clark drop out of race. Throw support to Bush" and post it in GD.
