Tom Cruise Was Happier In Previous Life
http://toronto.fashion-monitor.com/news.php/Celebrity_Style/2005082202tom_cruise

Tom Cruise revealed that he was much happier in previous existences and his current life is probably one of the least satisfying he has led.

Scientologist Tom Cruise revealed that he is much older than the forty three years he has spent in his present body.

Tom Cruise noted that he is "old beyond reckoning." What's more, his current life is "probably one of the least satisfying" he has led.

"I was much happier in previous existences when I wrote plays, composed music, conquered nations, discovered continents, and developed cures for diseases," said Tom Cruise.

Cruise said he became aware that he "had been here before," when he read the complete works of Shakespeare in a month, despite being dyslexic, not long after dropping out of high school.

"Shakespeare was deja vu for me," said Tom Cruise. "It was so cool. I felt as if I had seen his words already, knew them all by heart. Then, after I began studying scientology, I realized the words had come from my heart in a previous life. That's why I say that as glorious and enviable as my present life is, making "War of the Worlds" and all those other great movies can't compare to writing "Romeo and Juliet" or the sonnets.

In addition to recognizing his days of future passed in the works of Shakespeare and Bach—and in the achievements of Columbus and Napoleon—Cruise recognizes the continuing reappearance of "Anti-Thetanic forces," such as Matt Lauer and Brooke Shields, with whom he has clashed in former lives.

1. Well, as I pointed out in the other Tom Cruise thread
It's pretty absurd that everyone who claims to have lived previous lives says they were someone important in those lives - no one ever admits to being just an everyday person in a previous life - what's with that? They're all Shakespeare or Alexander the Great or something.

What a maroon.

16. Most people don't have famous past lives
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 03:36 PM by AuntJen
From what I've read and experienced, the memories or dreams that people believe to be past life memories are for the most part the more interesting moments of ordinary lives. Someone who claims that they have had a past life as a specific individual based on a vague sense or on something a "spirit" or a medium told them will be, in my experience, more likely to claim a famous past life but less likely to have any verifiable detail about that life which cannot be more easily explained by other means.

Some people will come up with what looks like a famous past life from memories and dreams, and for them, there seems to be a moment when the nameless person they feel they have been suddenly acquires a known name followed by years of denial, backpedaling, pushing the famous identity away, alternating with near compulsive research into the details of memories and dreams. Usually, from what I have seen, those affected people are researching the details in an effort to prove themselves wrong. I have seen several very relieved people prove their self-identifications to be incorrect upon finding more information.

It's a delicate subject. People who take reincarnation seriously do not want to be mixed up with the nutjob Cleopatras.

Where are you getting your information? I would like to see the books or websites or television shows. (Seriously, no sarcasm - I'd actually like to see the sources.)

22. Observation
I haven't made any kind of serious study of any of it - just seems like every time a celebrity starts talking about reincarnation, they believe they were once all these fabulous people.

I don't either believe or disbelieve in the theory of reincarnation. I don't know enough about it to have an opinion. But I do have an opinion of Tom Cruise - I think he's an egotistical blowhard.

24. A-hah, that's a different kind of thing
I would bet that most of the celebrities (movie stars, etc.) we'd hear talking about reincarnation are of the bunch who dabble and play in the spirituality of the week. Maybe it's so hard for them to believe that they have been ordinary, will be ordinary again, and actually aren't all that special right now that they become susceptible to identifying with the most famous person of whatever place and time they're drawn to.

8. I was
A few years ago I had one of those dreams that wasn't a dream. I was an African-American girl who was lynched near a playground. I had a locket with a picture of the person I loved it in, and someone (family?) had a white car.

20. Have you done any looking to find out where it was?
You might even be able to find the name of the child you were, maybe get the locket back.

17. Most people remember ordinary lives
There are plenty of cases of people with memories of having been someone quite ordinary. Dr. Ian Stevenson collected a lot of these cases in his book Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation--not one of the ones he investigated turned out to be famous.

Currently, Carol Bowman is collecting cases of past-life recall in children. Her website is at http://www.childpastlives.org .

19. What a fucking BOOB!
For someone who vehemently condemns psychiatry, he's the poster man-child for someone who desperately needs it.

My first thought was, "Look for 'The Onion' in the link". It's hard to comprehend that this goofball seriously believes this crap.
