Pictures I took on the Summer Solstice
Hello

I always carry around one of those small cameras you get at Walgreen's for ten bucks (hey the free film for life offer hooked me). After all you never know when you might find yourself in a situation where you wish you had one (like when that jerk in his suv smashed into my car and lied about how it happened, insurance company determined we were "equally at fault" :grr: but that's another story) I scanned these into my computer and just resized them for the web.

Anyways, on the Summer Solstice we had a large thunderstorm pass overheard around dusk(9 pm) .After the rain started to let up I opened my front door, saw this, and grabbed my camera and took these two pictures, standing on my front door welcome mat.

The rainbow looked like it was rising straight out the KOIN Tower (one of downtown's tallest buildings, and it has a pyramid at its top) and the light made it seem entirely red. What was even neater to see was the lightning flashing behind it as the storm continued to recede into the night....

Just thought I'd share!

8. What beautiful pics!
How did you capture the redness with no filter?

I'm also in Portland ... It's easy to forget that this Spring brought many rainy days ... But, pretty soon we'll forget the sun was shining almost every day in August.

9. the sky was really that red !
I opened my door, thought to myself "Oh my God!" and ran to my car to get the camera (I keep it in the glovebox)...Sometimes it manages to get some pretty good shots...second one is grainy though.
