Actor Brock Peters dead at 78
Edited on Tue Aug-23-05 05:31 PM by Chichiri
Brock Peters is best known to mainstream audiences for playing Tom Robinson, the man falsely accused of rape, in "To Kill A Mockingbird" with Gregory Peck. He was also in Porgy and Bess, Carmen Jones, Soylent Green and a number of animated works.

As a Trekkie, I best knew and loved Peters from his roles as Admiral Cartwright in the Star Trek feature films, and as Joseph Sisko in Deep Space Nine.

He will be missed.

5. He deserved an Academy Award for Mockingbird ... AWESOME.
In a movie completely loaded with quality, he still stood out.
