Who had a #2 hit with a song from a bank commercial meant to attract young people to move their checking and savings there?
(I just downloaded the song and I'm laughing my ass off again at it. I love this shit.)
Extra points for the songwriter's name.
Don't forget to throw in your own trivia question

Sharing horizons that are new to us Watching the signs along the way Talking it over just the two of us Working together day to day

I still miss Randy Meisner. He brought a softer side to the group.

I know this one. I was working at Crocker Bank in the advertising department when BBD&O, our ad agency, commissioned Paul whatever his name was to write the song for the ad.
Since you're giving extra points, I believe the guy's name is Paul Williams, right -- and I didn't even Google it.
ed. OR look at earlier posts.
What do I win?

I think it was called Crocker Citizens Bank back then -- it's been a long time ago, 1969-70-71, in through there, One Montgomery Street on the corner of Market, San Francisco. They tore the old building down after I left and built the tower that's there now. I was a full-blown hippie at the time and didn't even wear stockings to work, which used to absolutely shock some of the older ladies on the elevator, who would eye me disapprovingly. My friends and I used to go out in the alleys on our lunch break and smoke a joint every day, and I'd come back to work toasted. The people in advertising and PR were very cool, though, and they treated me great.
Several years later I went back down there and visited one of my older co-workers, a really lovely woman who also was a writer and artist. I let her in on my big secret that I had been stoned every afternoon when I came back from lunch, and she just smiled and said, "Honey, we ALL knew, but we didn't care."
Part of the reason why I love San Francisco.

15. Who was the first member of the Eagles to leave for good? |

And what two guitarists were brought in to replace him?
Alas, I know far too much Eagles trivia.

though that seemed at the time to be about tabloid news - but it appeared ten years before the whole Lewinskization of general news (when news and tabloids could no longer be distinguished).

"On The Border"
Cruisin' down the center of a two way street Wond'rin' who is really in the driver's seat Mindin' my bus'ness along comes big brother Says, "Son, you better get on one side or the other."
I'm out on the border, I'm walkin' the line Don't you tell me 'bout your law and order I'm try'n' to change this water to wine.
After a hard day, I'm safe at home Foolin' with my baby on the telephone Out of nowhere somebody cuts in and Says, "Hmm, you in some trouble boy, we know where you're been."
I'm out on the border I thought this was a private line Don't you tell me 'bout your law and order I'm try'n' to change this water to wine
Never mind your name, just give us your number, mm Never mind your face, just show us your card, mm And we wanna know whose wing are you under You better step to the right or we can make it hard
I'm stuck on the border All I wanted was some peace of mind Don't you tell me 'bout your law and order I'm try'n' to change this water to wine
On the border On the border On the border On the border On the border Leave me be , I'm just walkin' this line On the border On the border All I wanted was some peace of mind, peace of mind I'm out on the border On the border Can't you see I'm tryin to change this water to wine Don't you tell me 'bout your law and order Sick and tired of all your law and order Sick and tired of it
