I love Rock Star: INXS.. is that wrong?
If it is, I don't care.

I just love watching the contestants perform because I think they're all really talented... and it sucks that I have to wait another 45 minutes for it to come on.

1. OMG, me too!
I was thinking earlier dang, ain't got nobody to talk Rock Star with.... :(

Tonight Marty really creeped me out. That's all I'm saying about that. :scared:

JD better win or else I'm going to....write a letter to someone, LOL!!

2. YAY!
I like JD too, but I think Mig is a better fit for INXS, you know? Or maybe that's just me.

I really like everyone that's there, now that Jessica is gone. :o

6. Yeah, I think Mig, Jordis, and JD are going to be the final three.
I think INXS' style kind of elimates a lot of people right there. I don't know that Mig is sexy/has enough 'wow factor' to front a band...he seems like kind of the amiable keyboard guy LOL!! He should have never sat down and did "Baby I love your way", now that's all I'm going to see him as.....

Have you seen their blogs? The comments people are making are nuts!

17. Every singer has a blog, yo!
Oh my lord, I know something you don't??

Go here:
http://rockstar.msn.com/blogsandboards

Each one of them has their own blog of what's going down so you can feel like their cyber friend. If you click comments you see things like "YOU SUCK MARTY RULES" and other random things like that.

26. Jordis is in trouble after tonight's performance. She's had about
three bad or not so good weeks in a row. She was in the bottom three in the early voting. I like Mig. He's very talented and has a rock star look. I also like Marty who you apparently don't think much of. Marty is different and has his own style. That style was lost on INXS tonight. I loved it. JD has his own unique style too. But I think they will soon discover that his unique style has evolved to cover up his lack of vocal range.

31. But I don't think Marty is a good fit for INXS.
I think he's talented, surely--but like one of the guys said last night, I don't think he's INXS material. A harder rock group, maybe. With these folks, it's not that they're not talented or don't have their own thing going, just that they're not necessarily right for INXS.

JD does have an inferior vocal range (so does Marty)---like that's stopped half the singers on the radio today, LOL!

Mig I can live with...but like I said, I don't think he's got the "wow" factor JD has. I was flipping through channels once and saw him singing, that's how I started watching the show. Can't say the same would have been true of any of the others.

JMO.

to see a guitar competition for a permanent guitarist chosen by her fans, like me.

22. Yup, that's one thing I noticed--these people actually have talent.
I hated the idea of this show. Really, really hated it.

But these people actually know how to play, write, all that stuff. And I prefer this format, too.

What I don't prefer is this "vote as many times as you want" thing. That's pretty lame. Also--who picks the final guy/girl? I haven't watched from the beginning, and I always miss the first few minutes.

5. If you are wrong, then I am too. Who do ya like best? Here's
my take so far.

1) Jordis
2) Mig
3) Marty
4) Suzie
5) Ty
6) Deanna
7) any of the ones who left but not JD...IMHO, JD has a bad attitude and on a personal level reminds me of singers I have worked with who always think only of themselves only. And those types also tend to be the types who can't sing a song without changing it to try to cover for their lack of range and willingness to try.

12. JD does have a bad attitude....BUT
He has a bad attitude, and I think it'll be Jordis or Mig who wins because of that.

JD wants it too badly, he's too desperate, and it's making him look like a big jerk. Also, he seems as if he *could* be very self-destructive--I wonder how INXS is looking at that right now.

BUT--he really does come off on that stage like he's a huge star already. He has the look that's in now, he has a good voice, the girls love him....and his song kicked the asses of the other two songs in the song off or whatever, LOL. If there were no reality show and only performances, JD would be the obvious choice.

But I just enjoy watching people sing, since I have no talent in that way at all.

And it's too far, and too expensive for me to go to actual concerts. :(
So I settle for this. :)

28. Yes. We need less TV; more local interaction between people.
Edited on Wed Aug-24-05 06:52 AM by HypnoToad
Exterminate your television. Or at least put it in life support.

Interaction meaning picnics, familyu gatherings, wholesome stuff.

TV has got to go.

34. Is Willem Defoe still on?
I'm sorry that guy looks WAY to much like Willem Defoe.

I think they have it one too many times. No drama no immediacy.

Also-INXS, are they really relevant anymore?

Should singing Nirvana songs well be a disqualifier? Haven't the mates in INXS been down that road before?

BTW_ Hutchinson was the selling point of that band. Good songs yes (girls dug them so guys bought the album) but Hutchinson was the sizzle that sold.

"Shaboo Shabaa" (sp?) was one of the alltime great debut albums IMHO.

ON last thing-Notice the product placement in the show, exactly how many times do they need to say "INXS"?

35. You're Not Alone!!! I Love It Too
... except for JD (and Ty) there is MORE TALENT in each singer's big toe than ANY of the American Idol singers.

I haven't watched last nights show yet... but, my pick to actually win the contest is MiG. But Marty is my 2nd favorite. I don't think that Jordis will win, but I think she's going to be VERY successful as a solo artist. I love her voice and her style and her looks. She has a beautiful smile!

38. I'm hooked on the show too-the only reality show I've watched.
I've liked JD from the outset. Yes, he's got an attitude and he's brash but I think he's just being honest--but he might just be an asshole, I don't know. I really like his voice and his stage presence and I think his voice would fit well with INXS' music. I like Marty as well and I used to like Ty--he has a really good voice--but he's been bugging me a little lately (and I also tend to prefer men with lower voices than he has). The women are good singers, but personally I can't see INXS with a female singer--it would totally change the dynamic of the songs (and the band).

42. I like Marty singing INXS songs.
Singing his own songs, he comes off as too hard for INXS, IMO. So serious, no swagger, just really intense and gritty stuff.

But SPOILER below....

Whatever INXS song he sang tonight, he was great! Much more playful (which is weird because of the circumstances), much more relating to the audience, much better voice....I thought he was fantastic.

If he was only singing the old INXS catalog, I'd like him a lot. But the idea of his influence causing INXS to go toward a harder, System of a Down feel or whatever....noooo way.
