Police say dealer arrested after tossing garbage from truck, keeping drugs

The Alameda County Narcotics Task Force has bagged a suspected major methamphetamine dealer who instead of tossing a bag of the drug from a truck threw one containing garbage, authorities said Tuesday.
Alameda County Sheriff's Deputy Steve Angeja, a task force supervisor, said the suspect, Jason Coates, 35, of Tracy, "was visibly shaken when he was told he had tossed the wrong bag" while being pursued by authorities.

A fast-food restaurant bag found in the truck contained 3 ounces of methamphetamine, and when the task force searched his Tracy home later, another pound of the drug as well as a gun was found there, Angeja said.
