I got into a university! (SHAMELESS VANITY POST)
Alright, after attending 3 semesters at the local community college, I will be moving up to Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State) in January! As you can imagine, I am very excited. As some of you know, I decided to stay at home and attend a community college because of a girl, which ended badly, and know I'm picking up the pieces. I did enjoy some of my classes, and I met some very interesting professors, but I think it's time to move on. I can stifle my intellectual hunger no more.

I am overjoyed and frightened beyond belief. I'll miss my folks and my home, but I have to move on. It's time.

:DCheers!

Neil

2. Congratulations Neil!
When you get to San Marcos, look me up! The Austin folks would love to meet ya.

Dude...you HAVE seen the women on that campus haven't you? *thud* I feel like a dirty old man when I go near that campus. :D

6. Oh, the women!
Yeah, that was the first thing I noticed. "Hmmm, there sure are a lot of beautiful, bronzed, blonde-haired girls walking around this campus. I don't know what it is about this place, but this feels right!"

And I'll probably be going to Austin frequently. My brother lives up there and I'll probably crash at his place when I get tired of whatever roomate I get.

God, three semesters? It doesn't seem like it's been that long since I heard of your story with the girl. Time flies.

So you haven't lost any time.

11. Congratulations!
Sometimes starting out at a junior college is the best way to go. Cheaper, and sometimes better instruction at the beginning level than at the four year schools. But now you're ready to move on. Good for you!

20. I had one professor that was really great.
Taught philosophy. Former Baptist minister. President of the Houston chapter of People United for the Separation of Church and State. Great guy, totally non-dogmatic. Never tried to convince anyone of anything. Thought we should come to our own conclusions.

It was fun, but I need to commit myself fully now.

You're far ahead of your peers already in terms of an intelligenge with leverage, whatever the hell that means, guaging from your captions. As a prof. in an Eng. Dept. for 22 years, let me tell you I'd delight having someone of your intelligence and sense of humor.
