i hate loaning money to family...

I loaned my sister 200 bucks.. then i loaned her another 200 like 3 days later. she paid back 200 almost immediately, and now i've been waiting for the rest of it for a few weeks.. trouble is, she's manic depressive and basically messed up. She's on disability but still draws more than enough to live on but spends her days driving around buying shit she doesn't need, then returning it and buying more crap.. I HATE asking for repayment of debts..


what's really irritating is that i've volunteered to pay for christmas by giving each family member 200 bucks to spend on the family combined, as i did last year. So i'm gonna feel like an asshole when i ask for the 200 back only to give it to her for xmas, but i can't really tell her to keep the money she owes me in lieu of me helping with xmas..

Serious question. Some manic depressives go on shopping sprees when they are in the manic end of the spectrum. A lot of manic-depressives are infamously bad with money. Maybe you should consider not loaning her money next time.
