An Ashton Kutcher movie that didn't suck... |
|
O.k. Butterfly Effect was actually half-way decent... Except for that Hollywood ending. How about instead, at the end, Kutcher duals it out with the secret head of the shadow government and destroys their plans to install their "New World Order". Throw in some Bilderbergs, some Hapsburgs and a ultra secret intelligent organization, so secret that it only has two members, the Pope and a small Inuit child living in Barrow, Alaska. Now that would be a movie.

2. I know I'll never live this down.. |

... but I found Dude Where's My Car funny in a totally amateurish sort of way.
Sure, it was beyond stupid - but it was funny anyway :)

5. Aw, come on..."Dude, Where's My Car?" is a flippin' MASTERPIECE! |
|
Moviemaking at its finest, with subtle, understated performances by Kutcher and his co-star, Seann William Scott. Their deeply-felt kiss in traffic is one of the most important moments in the history of cinema.:bounce:

8. I've seen another ending, too. (spoiler) |
|
At the end, the home movie he sees is of a "welcome to the neighborhood" party (when he and his mother first moved there). Instead of becoming friends with Kayleigh, he tells her he hates her and he'll kill her and her whole family if she comes near him again.
Keyleigh and Tommy go to live with their mother instead of their father when they divorce and both grow up fine. Evan is also fine. At the end of the movie, Evan and Kayleigh pass each other on the street. Evan recognizes her, but Kayleigh doesn't recognize him.
A better ending, IMO.
(there's a scene in this version that I don't remember from the other version...one time when Evan is talking to Kayleigh, she tells him that the only reason she stayed with her father when her parents divorced is to be near him...it sets up the alternate ending)
The Butterfly Effect 2 is supposedly in pre-production, due for release in 2007.

11. I believe that ending is the "director's cut" version. |
|
The theatrical version has a different ending.

13. he actually wasn't too bad in one that just came out |
|
saw it on a plane last month... it was a boy-girl keep missing each other type of story. He was actually pretty believable as the character. Can't remember what it was called. The woman who played his female friend over the years was good too.
and he was funny on that 70s show.
