And you would know that if you had a child who had to take it.

3. Why's it evil? When used only for intervention in severe |
|
circumstances, it works. But it has to be respected, and NEVER used too frequently, as with all steroids.
Is that what's going on with your kid?

4. It is only used when she has severe exacerbations |

but someone else posted something about how the methylprenisolone pills taste horrible, and it reminded me.
Actually something they are doing now is giving Decadron (the IV solution) orally (It essentially lasts the 2-3 days, and it is nearly tasteless).

5. Asthma is a tough thing to deal with, especially when it's your |
|
kids. If it's severe enough, and you have a good doctor, the steroid intervention might be worth it, comapred with the alternative.
No fun, I agree, and torture to see your child suffer. I hope it works out well for you guys.

6. I love our Pediatrician |
|
He has been so good with her, and our local children's hospital has literally saved her life a couple of times.

8. Then trust them. It's all you can do. |
|
That doctor would not have become a pediatrician if he or she didn't like kids, and want them to feel better. Ditto the hospital people.
I am fortunate to have two kids who have been graced with sometimes-annoying ADD, but are physically healthy. My heart goes out to you, having to deal with a child with such health problems.
Hang in there.

I have a bit of the ADD myself, so I know what your kids go through. It totally breaks my heart when KWDaughter has problems. But I know what to do, and she always gets better.
