How do you judge people?
We all do, to some extent.

Do you see people with long hair and turn away?

do you see people with a different color and question their motives?

Do you judge people by visuals, or not?

I know, most will say, "no, hell no, I don't do that"

but be honest. Who are your friends, and who do you shy away from? Your friends are probably those who look like you, and those you feel uncomfortable looking at or talking to are "different"

Yes?

1. badly
for the most part.

If that person was so nice, how come I have 475 stab wounds in my back?

5. sounds
as though you have a thought on this, but your answer/response has no info.

2. I hate pretentious people

I would walk into any party with anyone I wanted to. I would walk in with the most unpopular person if I liked them.

In that regard I think I am actually a very cool person.

I stay away from thug looking morons who are most likely braindead, but if they turn out to be cool than I am friends with them.

3. Like them all until they open their mouth and reveal their rw,sexist,
racist, repuke tendencies and even then if they are older folks I give them the benefit of the doubt because I figure they were taught all that nonsense and never learned any better.

6. By their attitude -

Not by looks. Of course, sometimes someone may look like a stuck-up money-hungry, me-first type - and I guess I DO kind of judge them on looks.

Mainly, I wait until they open their mouths.

I'm VERY impressed by intelligence, kindness, compassion, and incredible wit.

7. I shaved my head
after having a ponytail and long hair for many years, and all of a sudden had to cope with others treating me like I was officer Bob.

It didn't feel good.

8. So, you went from being treated like a "longhair hippie"
Edited on Mon Nov-10-03 11:16 PM by PROUD DemocRAT
to being treated like a "meathead marine"?

I have a "wack-pack" group of friends, I guess. Very beautiful to average to "odd". I've always said if I threw a party and invited all my friends the only thing they'd have in common would be ME.

9. there are a lot of things really
Say a man wearing a suit gets out of an escalade still yakking away on his cell phone, and as he passes you by he gives you that "you're not really important enough for me to even be looking at" look. All that combined will have me 99% sure that guy is an asshole.

17. I was at a choir rehearsal tonight
more about that on another thread.

The extroverts simply would not shut up. They talked during the rehearsal, they talked while the conductor was talking, they talked during the announcements.

The conductor said four separate times "listen". Two idiots sing along.

The conductor said twice "bases only". One of the tenors is bellowing away.

Jaysus Christ on a crutch.

15. Honesty and integrity
Watch the actions instead of the words. Little hints of dishonesty are ALWAYS a red flag to me.

18. Initially yes
It isn't a conscious thing. A negative feeling pops into my head, for example, if I see someone wearing a black spiked collar. I even had an initial negative impression of my long haired guy friend, wearing black, when I first saw him from afar. Once I talk to the people in question, though, that initial impression changes. They become what they say rather than their clothes or what they look like. I am not afraid to talk to anyone either if I am in a comfortable environment. (Well, anymore than I am usually am to strangers.) I have become friends with a wide variety of people.

'cause after all, who wants to hang out with ugly people?

Besides, if they're ugly, they're probably stupid too, right?
