Favorite Elvis memory: him hosting Letterman, and playing Nick Lowe's "Peace Love and Understanding" as a statement on the eve of this fucking misbegotten war.

3. I've a friend who recently
described him as "the Sinatra of the boomer generation." Don't think that's quite apt though 'cause he's one of the most prolific, eloquent, a versatile songwriters and has developed his vocal qualities over the years. He put out a country album and collaborated with Burt Bachrach (sp?).

Truly and eternally one of my absolute faves. Hope he has a great one.

Imperial Bedroom is probably one of the greatest albums of all time. IMHO
