DU does LA again! – Hermosa Beach This Friday - Nov 14th

Due to popular demand, DU is doing it again! This time it will be South of LA in Hermosa Beach. Join the fun and DU camaraderie at Hennessey’s Tavern located at 8 Pier Ave in Hermosa Beach. Because of short notice I made the reservation for 15, for outside on the patio of course, unless weather forces us inside. I am assured they can accommodate more of us if we have a larger showing than expected.

Hennessey’s has a full bar and their Menu is listed on their wed site.

What time?

Hermosa Beach is about 90 minutes away, barring LA traffic holdups. It will depend on what time I leave work, what time you are meeting, and whether or not there's enough of me left for the drive there and back after work.

Still, I'd love to meet some of you.

I'd be there if I didn't already have plans to go see the Bruce Springsteen tribute band at B.B. King's....Hennessy's is a great hangout. I highly recommend the burger sampler :9

way too tough from Ventura County. It could be a 3-hour drive one way for me. x(

I'm in Day 11 of the Mother of All Flus which has now morphed into a raging sinus infection and I'm going for antibiotics this afternoon because I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I'm really bummed I missed last week at the El Coyote but I know y'all are glad I kept my flu to msyelf and didn't share.

. . I'm way up here on the Olympic peninsula in Washington State. But I saw your invitation and became quite nostalgic.

I lived in Hermosa back in the sixties - On Hermosa Ave a couple of blocks from Hennesseys - next to the Xtian Science church.

I used to go down to the Litehouse at midnight when a good jazz group was in town. If they weren't full for the 1:00 set - you could get in without a cover - just had to buy a drink. Saw some great music there for the price of a beer.

Anyway, I really wish I could join you - but since I can't - please have a beer for me.

26. Taking a guess based on PM’s, spouses, friends, SO’s, not sure’s,

and NOT counting people just going off the home page and thus not responding, I'd venture to estimate 10 to 12 for tomorrow night.

Last week I estimated 20 and it ended up being 30 or more, but, this week there was shorter notice and since so close to the last time I'm guessing there is not as much interest. Another surprise to the positive would be all the better. There is also some interest from San Diego this time.

I plan on leaving by 9:30 or 10:00 in the moring so I won't be able to check PM's anymore after that unless I can find internet access in Hermosa Beach and even then it will only be for a couple minutes.
