I came home and there was a thick envelope in my mailbox. The return address was the wife of a man I worked with off and on during the last few years. I had a terrible crush on him, which was somewhat mutual, but nothing ever happened between us outside the job. We got to know each other pretty well, or so I thought. His wife worked at the same large company, but I never met her.
Inside the envelope was a form letter and some tracts from Jehovah's Witnesses. She is apparently a JW. He is an atheist. They've been married for more than ten years. In all the times I talked to him he never mentioned this to me or anyone else in the workgroup. I don't know if she just converted or what.
He's given me a great job reference recently and I plan to stay in touch with him via email. But this just freaks me out. How can an atheist be married to a JW or vice versa?
Yeah, I was worried she might be accusing me of something when I was opening the envelope. But I never expected JW tracts!

throw away the tracts. She probably just got a list of names/addresses from work and abused that list.
If it bothers you, find out how she got your name/address and why you were sent the JW stuff.
Otherwise, chill, let it go, toss the tracts, and move on with that great job reference!
The things that bother you are only the things you allow to bother you. Your choice...
