Who saw Bill Maher last night? Didn't it suck? |
|
I turned it on during the Hackett interview, which I enjoyed. So there's a possibility that the show prior to this was better. If so, please let me know. But after Hackett, I just thought it was on a downward slide.
The guests on the panel SUCKED! Even Chris Rock. While it was great that he pointed out that minorities are war enlistment fodder, he obviously isn't politically conscious--which is fine, but then why was he on the panel?
Who were those other two people? The women was annoying and the man was dull, dull, dull.
At least the woman wasn't as awful as his friend Ann Coulter, but I just didn't understand anything she was arguing about...

1. Not quite "sucked"..... |
|
More like "rather lame". Rock was surprisingly passive, considering how many openings he had with Coulters little brother. Perhaps the former "drug czar" being on set cast a pall over the festivities.
HBO did run Mahrs "I'm Swiss" standup later, which I think is his best work to date. I'll still be tuned in tomorrow night.

2. Other than Hackett, the show was worthless. Chris Rock |
|
was especially disappointing. I thought he'd have more to say. His gas bit got old. I fell asleep. Let's hope the show tomorrow is more enlightening and humorous.

4. Chris was like Chicken Little. The sky is falling in with gas prices |
|
and everyone is looking everywhere else. So he kept pointing out what We The People would like to hear about.

I just didn't like the way that women, kind of kept mocking Chris Rock about his gas price commentary.

8. I didn't like her at all. The comments about how Iraqi women are |
|
enjoying all that freedom we gave them really irked me. At least BIll stood up to those comments. But can you belive that these people have no idea what it's like over there? I think they all should go over there for a month and they won't be allowed in the green zone

9. I agree, her comments were strangely unsettling. |
|
It always bugs me when right wing women (of this particular ilk) insist on the integrity of situations they know little about.
For example, Nancy Reagan's "Just say No" campaign. What a crock. :banghead:
Besides the fact that she has never even been there, who is she to insist that they are happy, better off, or doing so well?

saying "That women don't have to wear burkas anyone in Iraq" which they didn't have to before. She's trying to peddle Iraq like it was Afghanistan and she's probably forgotten all about that place, the media and the US government sure has.

7. What about the bushbot reaction to the Rove/Plame thing? |
|
They didn't seem to want to talk about that or hold him accountable at all.
:grr: :grr: :grr:
I found it irritating that the women decided to villify Plame because she had appeared in Vanity Fair, calling her a media whore was over the line imo.
