Ok, so I'm minding my business listening to Randi Rhodes and what do I hear?

Frickin' "Permanent Vacation" playing on the show! Randi says it's new (which it isn't, I have it on an old vinyl bootleg).

Does anyone know why they did it? Just to stick it to *? Is it on something? If R.E.M. has taken to re-recording their old good never officially released songs, I'm all for it. I'd love to hear something good out of them again.
