My oldest daughter has never been a 'joiner' and has always been very self-conscience. Last year we found out most of the things about herself that she found troubling were a side-effect of PCOS (medical condition). We began to treat her last spring and she's like a new person this fall (20+ pounds lighter, clear complextion, not as much body hair, etc.)
The big news of the day? SHE MADE THE VOLLEYBALL TEAM! I'm so happy and proud for her.
