Poll question: Does your family eat together regularly?
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 07:32 PM by Tripper11
I just saw a commercial for some "family day" thing with Jamie Lee Curtis saying that eating as a family will help stop kids from doing drugs, drinking etc.
I was brought up eating dinner as a family and am quite vigilant about it happening now with my own family. Sometimes we don't eat as a whole due to overtime(rare, but kids and I do eat together still) or Mrs. and I miraculously find a sitter and get to go out to dinner/movie/party.
Has life come to being reminded we need to eat as a family???

1. Almost every night until the kids went off to college
it varied between 5:00-8:00 depending on everyone's schedules, but we did it.

2. Us too.
:) It is definitely worth it. Too busy...is just too busy. You need to make the time. The busy stuff eventually goes by the wayside, you don't want the family thing to go there, as well.

7. Yup
Granted, there's me, Briarius, and an almost-three-year-old. So it kinda has to work that way ;)

We both grew up in families where everyone at together, at least everyone who was home. That changed for me around 15, when things got bad between my parents, but the lesson stuck. We eat together whenever possible. That's most nights, unless I'm at class.

8. Always did growing up
Now the family gathers about once a month (generally Sunday lunch) from the various corners of Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire in which we live.

10. we did until my daughter got this job with the wierd schedule
but I take her to supper every Friday night after work and we try to eat at home together on Tuesdays and Sundays (her days off)

It is our catch up time.

My husband isn't in Texas right now but we still try to eat together whenever possible when he is here.

Last time he was home, we took meals over to our daughter at the shop several evenings and ate with her over there, just to have some visiting time.
