Pastafarianism - Flying Spaghetti Monster cult grows
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 07:51 PM by StefanX

The "Flying Spaghetti Monster" -- the overlord of a
new parody religion created to protest a
Kansas State Board of Education> decision allowing so-called Intelligent Design to be taught
in science classes.

The FSM cult now has a Wikipedia entry, with details that indicate that followers of
His Noodliness -- Pastafarians -- are growing in number, like so many meatballs
accumulating on a plate of linguini. A few of the facts I learned:

Codes of conduct:

- Prayers are ended with the word RAmen rather than Amen.

Benefits of conversion:

- Like the great noodles they worship, Flying Spaghetti Monsterists have flimsy moral
standards.

- Promise of a stripper factory and a beer volcano in Heaven.

A rival faction, based on SPAM (Spaghetti & Pulsar Activating Meatballs), has formed
and is calling for a Holy War against FSM. SPAMation claims to have the One True Letter
to the Kansas School Board.

=====

OPEN LETTER TO KANSAS SCHOOL BOARD

I am writing you with much concern after having read of your hearing to decide whether
the alternative theory of Intelligent Design should be taught along with the theory of
Evolution. I think we can all agree that it is important for students to hear multiple
viewpoints so they can choose for themselves the theory that makes the most sense to
them. I am concerned, however, that students will only hear one theory of Intelligent
Design.

Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many
others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a
Flying Spaghetti Monster. It was He who created all that we see and all that we feel.
We feel strongly that the overwhelming scientific evidence pointing towards
evolutionary processes is nothing but a coincidence, put in place by Him.

It is for this reason that I’m writing you today, to formally request that this
alternative theory be taught in your schools, along with the other two theories. In
fact, I will go so far as to say, if you do not agree to do this, we will be forced to
proceed with legal action.

Link to Wikipedia entry.

So, here's a question. If some people see Jesus in a tortilla, or the Virgin Mary on a
grilled cheese sandwich, where does the Flying Spaghetti Monster show up...?

3. I am going to give my tear filled witness of where I saw Almighty FSM
I was dining at Luigi's Pastarama recently, and I had ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The waiter brought me my plate, and as I was putting the parm on my lunch, I saw eyes. I was about to call the waiter and complain that there were eyes in my spaghetti. But then, time just sort of stood still. It was Almight Father FSM. His Benevolent Heavenly Holiness told me the stories that you see referred to on Wikipedia. Except for his son, Lasagna Boy, who is actually part of a holy trinity...FSM, Lasagna Boy, and the Holy Spirit of Chianti. Then, just as quickly, FSM flew back up to heaven to be with his host. I could not eat the FSM dinner. I took it home and it is still in my fridge. I fear that my eternal soul might be damned because of the parmesian cheese. But I don't beleive so. FSM does not work that way. He is a creator of love, and garlic. CAN I GET A WITNESS!?!
