Alright College Students: What classes are you taking!
Here is my classes for this semester only four due to academic probation (which thanks to Statistics this Summer I have almost gotten off of completely)

1. African American Literature
2. Urban Development
3. Biology (ugh)
4. Spanish (First semester of four required semesters of a foreign language. . . I need all the luck I can get people) . .

Major: English.

I only say ugh to Biology because the teacher almost puts me to sleep . . but I'm confident I can do well in it.

That is all.

7. all those classes look great
why again did I not choose to be a history major? I'm sure in your major you don't have to get up at 6am every day for the last 2 weeks of summer so you can spend your day taping ankles

8. I sort of count....
As a 'returning student', I'm only taking two classes this semester:

Art History Since 1400
The Globalization of World Politics

The second could either be phenomenal, or dry as dust. We shall see.

11. I took several courses with titles like that
They were all fascinating.

I was studying International Relations though - so I'm somewhat biased.

17. Hrm, that might make a difference :)
I haven't studied it, but I do enjoy reading DU and learning about foreign places, so hopefully it won't be too bad. The book is of the very small text, overwhelming-looking type, and I haven't dived into it yet. So the same goes for that... could be terrific, could be really dry. I'll let you know :)

What was your favorite part about studying IR?

40. My favourite part was the political philosophy
During my time at university my field of interest moved somewhat so that by the end I was practically a political philosopher.

I.R. (at least at St. Andrews) was essentially a politics course covering the super-national level. As such it has all of the facets of politics.

I also have a tendancy to love really dry and desicated ideas though.

14. I'm also an English major, and I'm down to my last six classes.
Finally! Here are the classes I'm taking this semester:

1. British Literature from 1978
2. Structural Linguistics
3. Writing Fiction
4. Modern American Poetry

I was signed up for a fifth class but it was cancelled... not enough interest I'm assuming. I also had another writing class in place of the Modern American Poetry class, but my advisor informed me that I actually needed another lit class instead of another writing class. :silly: They just can't seem to keep this crap straight.

23. My schedule
Edited on Fri Aug-26-05 10:08 PM by Dave Sund
Nebraska-Omaha this year. Junior year, but got to re-do a lot of core work since I transferred in.

Comparative Politics - Instructor is finishing her dissertation, about 20 years later.

International Relations - The professor is a transsexual, and actually the spouse of a French teacher at my old high school. There was actually a pretty balanced article in the Omaha World-Herald a few weeks ago.

Public Administration - Young teacher for that class, seems nice enough, but mind-numbingly boring material.

World Civilization - Another young teacher. I transferred 12 History credits in but still have to take this class because it's required. Material is easy, and I don't have to write any papers.

Political Parties - I get the feeling that the teacher's more conservative, but he doesn't wear it on his sleeve, so that's fine. He's of the school that there's not much difference between the two anyway. Class is right up my alley, though.

I don't have any small classes, kind of a change.
